CSM Kenneth J. (Kenny) Prather, USA, Ret.
Joined the army in October 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis and proudly served 24
years. Served 11 years in Air Defense Artillery with training and most assignments at Fort
Bliss, Texas. In the early years, was a member of the Army Air Defense Command
(ARADCOM), which supported NORAD. Served 13 years in Military Intelligence (MI) with a
wide range of assignments. Final assignment was that of Command Sergeant Major for the
140th Military Intelligence Battalion (Command Electronics Warfare Intelligence.)
Oversea tours included three tours in Republic of Korea and one tour in Alaska. One tour
in Korea was as a First Sergeant in a Psychological Operations Company assigned to
support the Combined Unconventional Warfare Center and Korean Special Operations
Command at SungNam, South Korea.
Decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with 3 Oak
Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal with Knots, National
Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Korean Defense Service
