NEWS:
THE FAMILY REUNION OF Alexander Gordon (1635) of Exeter, New Hampshire on July 14, 2007
was a great success! Read Merle's report on the family fun!
The Maine Games were a rousing success as well! We started the day with heavy
rain and heavy winds. A few clans lost their paper work to the ocean, a few tents
hurled into other sections of the clan rows. Maybe one of the greatest things I
learned is that all clans come together to help one another at such times. Other than
the weather I feel it was a great success. My paper work managed to be cleaned up
by cousins with interest in joining House of Gordon, and many took interest in the
Gordon DNA project. Jim Gordon visited for a great amount of time and added his
help. I think we're off to a great start. Many are excited to have a House of Gordon
Maine. There were a few who didn't want to join as they said they didn't like it when
they joined before because nothing came from it. As I told them " I'm here, we have
a fresh start and we plan on an active roll now" So there's even hope there as they
seemed encouraged and decided to take applications before leaving. My son
Michael even got excited and after all the teasing he gave me on the kilt, he now
wants one, and he jumped right in on helping out. There is a great amount of
excitement when you see all the clans and people stopping by, excited to see you
are there. Many thanked us for bringing the House of Gordon back to the games.
Earl Gordon who ran the old House of Gordon New England is not doing well. A
friend of his stopped by and asked if we would send him letters,as he is very sad
about not being able to do the games anymore.
The Livermore Gordon's attended, and people got so excited seeing them with their House of Gordon shirts on.
They really stand out! Tim's wife took a picture of the three of us men (above). Well again we have an exciting start.
If half the people who took applications join, I'll be ecstatic.
